Today's Inspiration: Let them Eat Cake

I am super excited: on Thursday Laduree are going to open their first stand alone cafe in Covent Garden. Expect sumptuous treats in pretty pastel colours. The best part is that the cafe will remain open until 11 pm on week nights. Sweet.

Modern Romance

Arrete de m'envoyer des fleurs. Kidnappe-moi, idiot.
Stop sending me flowers. Kidnap me, idiot.

In the wake of the Royal Wedding, and the arrival of springtime, there is no denying that love is in the air at the moment. I recently stumbled across this wonderful ad campaign in L'Officiel by French design company Loft, who have also set up the lovewall. Their manifesto:

"There are encounters that are more significant than others. There are people who make our heart beat. There is the lovewall to tell them or find them".

Check it out and see for yourself. Gorgeous. Love is:

For the Woman who has Everything . . .

I clocked the new Gucci Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign in Sunday Times Style the other day. Why buy an It bag when you can accessorise with 2 perfect babies??!! So cute.

Audrey Marnay for Longchamp

Love this: the Longchamp Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign starring Audrey Marnay. Happiness is a Longchamp bag and a canoe ...

90's Calvin Klein

I still love this ad campaign. I even had a large-scale poster of it pinned up on my bedroom wall when it came out in the 90's. It's sort of wholesome and natural; but a bit grainy and edgy at the same time. It was great then, and it still is now. Classic.

I have a feeling the 90's are going to stage a full on come back for Autumn Winter 2011. To whet your appetite: this silhouette from the Proenza Schouler pre-fall collection.
